Freebie

I used to say "it's just another day at the office", now I say "its just another day". Although today was not just your average day. See I had to have outpatient surgery and I was a little freaked out about anesthesia. I don't know why, but I like being in control. Anyway, my dh drove me to the surgery center at 5:30 this morning and I got prepped (IV, etc) but my doctor was running late from the hospital.
Seems he had to deliver a baby and had very little sleep. Anyway, they said I was only going into a twilight sleep, the anesthesiologist pushed a shot of meds in and said I would get drowsy in a few minutes and before I knew it (no count backwards from 100) I was out like a light. The next thing I remember is them waking me up. Then to recovery and by 9:45 a.m. we were out the door and on our way home. So I guess all my worry was for nothing. My husband always says if I have nothing to worry about then I have to make up something to worry about.

The following is a little freebie I made while recovering at home. I was going to do a LO today, but I took a nap instead.

New Blog and a Freebie

Hi. This is my first blog posting. I have been trying for some time to be accepted as a CT but everyone requires a blog. So I thought I would give it a shot. Especially as I substitute teach and I thought I would have some time this summer. Unfortunately the summer has gone quite fast. My son was at YMCA camp in June for three weeks in Wisconsin taking a LIT (Leader in Training) course so he can eventually become a counselor, then we went on vacation to Bemidji Minnesota for two weeks, and then dropped my daughter off at Concordia language camp up there and drove 91/2 hours straight back to Algonquin. This Saturday it will already be time to pick her up although we have to drive 2 hours to Madison to get her. Most of my free time has been trying to paint the upstairs bathroom (and I am certainly one of the worst painters in the world). While trying to paint over the bathtub I slipped and hit the shower curtain then came straight down in the tub. Luckily all I got was a cut nose, a huge bump on my forehead and a sore right arm. When not painting I volunteer at an animal shelter, which I love, but it takes up quite a bit of time including many Saturdays.

But if it weren't for the animal shelter, I wouldn't have Dillon my beautiful blue eyed English Springer Spaniel who was dumped in a park to starve and/or freeze to death the day before Thanksgiving in 2006. He is the most wonderful dog! And of course we had to find a friend for him, so thanks to Petfinder.com and a trip to St. Louis to visit the in-laws in December 2006, we found Mandy. She was rescued from the puppy mill auctions by a wonderful lady that runs an Australian Cattle Dog Rescue in Missouri. She purchased Mandy and her brother Barkley (formerly Black Bart) from the auctions and we got them from her on Christmas Day. We took the girl and my in-laws took the boy. They are Cockashons (half Cocker Spaniel and half Bishon). Mandy is a little traumatized by what she went through, but she's getting better.

My other love is genealogy and I have been doing it for 15 years, starting with my husband's family. My problem is getting organized. I think its time to get a desk and start organizing my geneology and my scrapbooking. Any suggestions?

Anyway, I think I ranted a little too long so if you are still with me here I have included a freebie for you all above.
